Linear Parameter Varying Power Regulation of Variable Speed Pitch Manipulated Wind Turbine in the Full Load Regime

In a wind energy conversion system (WECS), changing the pitch angle of turbine blades is typical practice to regulate electrical power generation in full-load regime. Due turbulent nature and large variations mean speed during day, rotary elements WECS are subjected significant mechanical stresses fatigue, resulting conceivably failures higher maintenance costs. Consequently, it imperative design control capable handling continuous changes. this work, Linear Parameter Varying (LPV) H_inf controller used cope with winds turbulence intensity greater than 10%. The proposed designed rotational rotor generator torque, thus, regulating output via manipulations. addition, PI-Fuzzy be compared system. closed-loop simulations both controllers established robustness stability suggested LPV under velocity variations, minute fluctuations controller. results show that presence achieves improved transient steady-state performance along reduced loads above-rated region.
